My Love Story

Kelly and I met at Snow College.

I remember what he was wearing when I first saw him, he was so hot! But I didn't work up the nerve to talk to him until a few months later.

I asked him out and we had an amazing first date, we talked and talked all night.

After that, Kelly will tell you I stalked him, and I will admit, it's kind of true. I would try to be where he was so I could ask him to come over, eventually, we were friends enough that we could just call each other to come over.

After the first date, we were together every day, but just as friends. Every day we would do homework and watch movies, and make dinner, then go on a walk at night and just talk about our lives.

Months after meeting him, I asked him if he wanted to be more than friends. He said "we'll talk about it tomorrow" and went home. I went to bed crying, sure that he was going to come up with a nice way to tell me no. I thought he might consider me too young for him.

So I avoided being alone with him the next day. Finally, he asked to go on a walk, we walked around campus once before he said anything. And he asked what I was thinking about (because I asked him that EVERY night). I said "nothing". He said, "well, I am thinking about your question last night". I got all flustered and shy and wanted so badly to be somewhere else. Then Kelly said "I would really like that". We continued walking and I asked him "what are you thinking?" and he said "I am just happy." and I replied "me too".

If you think it came easy after that, think again. Kelly really made me work! A few days after we established we liked each other he still hadn't held my hand. And when I asked him if I could, he said "no", and after I had turned bright red he laughed and took my hand. I swore to myself I would get him back.

And then a couple months after that, he still hadn't KISSED ME, I was so annoyed. We were watching the movie "Willow" ( I know, how romantic, haha), and I was fuming about him not kissing me, I turned to him and said "don't you think its about time you kissed me?" and he did. Great first kiss by the way.

We had the most wonderful time dating and have lots of great memories. Kelly took the reigns after the kiss and began talking about marriage, which, totally scared me and I decided to move to California and work for my aunt. Well that was a good plan for about a day, when I called Kelly crying that I missed him. And lets just say he came and saved me a month later! Never so happy to see someone in my life!

We were engaged that summer, but when he proposed I got him back by saying "no" first! Kelly took me to a beautiful spot where we could see the temple, and proposed, put the ring on my finger and we danced. He promised me the most wonderful things and has kept EVERY single one of those things.

Kelly is such an amazing person and brings out the best in me. Kelly is the best friend every one wants, and the husband girls imagine when they are small. He is so good to me!
We were married December 19, 2006. I love being married to Kelly! Marriage is the only thing in my life I haven't had to stress over or worry about, and I am definitely a worrier by nature. I wrote this for Kelly when we were engaged, (cheesy? yes of course) :

Never
Never thought someone could make
Me laugh this hard,
Never expected someone to
Care if I cried.
Never hoped to love this much.
Never knew I would smile so wide!
So never think of me leaving you,
Never expect me to run.
Never a need of praying I will stay,
Never. Never. Because now and always,
I know you are the one.
